We all are using the right toothpaste, brushing twice a day with the right brush to keep our mouth healthy but is our toothbrush healthy. Here are few tips to keep the toothbrush clean & hygienic.
The Do's:-
- Replace your toothbrush every 3-4 months
- Toothbrush should also be replaced after cough, cold or illness.
- Wash your brush with ample amount of water after each use to remove any toothpaste or food residue.
- Always keep toothbrush dry do not store in a closed container or keep them wet moisture will promote bacterial growth.
- Always store toothbrush upright.
- Clean your toothbrush holder once a week.
The Dont's:-
- Never share your toothbrush with anyone else; as it might lead to cross contamination.
- Never force your brush as it can lead to distortion of shape of bristles. A frayed toothbrush should be replaced immediately.
- Never store brush near toilet: Toothbrush should be stored 5 feet away from toilet. The water splash after flushing can contaminate the brush.
- Do not let toothbrushes come into contact with one another.
- Never keep a moist brush in closed container; while travelling dry the brush and then pack.
